A few points  that are interesting is that it gives examples of the Bible. For example, how Moses also went through the process of a hero. He was abandoned by his mom, and then later was found. He grew up to be the leader of the Israelite. His initiation is when he took the Israelite out of Egypt, but later came back to be their leader. Also how Jesus came to the world and left a message to the world, just like Mohammed and Gautama Buddha. He also explains how the hero and his ultimate god are to be understood as the outside and inside of a single. A story that he did not mention of the 3 Hebrews did not want to adore the god of the king because they were faithful to God. They left a message to the world of ancient and modern. Also the story of Martin Luther King Jr., he brought the message that basically says to be equal to everyone no matter race, skin, etc. There are many stories that involve heroes or messages that are sent to the world. Personally I think that a hero needs to pass by hard times because he needs to know how and what the world is made of to be able to get through the hard times. A hero needs to be separated to obviously be on his own to grow up supporting everything on his own. If someone is always has his decisions made by someone else he will never know how it feels to make a bad decision. Also someone may need to let stuff pass to succeed. Many people always think that older people are always right and that’s not true, because that did not experience everything. Although they did go through a lot but not everything; for example, some went through economic droughts others did not.     hero

PERSUASIVE ESSAY ON THE ACHIEVEMENT GAP

Imagine that your child is having problems at school just because of his family is poor. Or just because of his skin color. The achievement gap is the difference between rich and poor in their education. In the achievement gap blacks/poor are extensively behind in education. The achievement gap is a problem that needs to be addressed in the Atlanta community because of its economic effects, its impact on crime, and its importance in the local community.

The achievement gap is a problem that needs to be addressed in Atlanta because of its economic effects. “Many teachers and schools across the country are proving that race and poverty are not destiny…” (Edelman). This country low rates poor people. Poor people have a lower level of education. No one should be slower or lower than others just because they are poor.

Violence is may be an occurrence in schools/communities because of the achievement gap. “School violent crime may have a negative direct impact on achievement by causing students stress, reducing concentration, and disruption in classroom environments” (Burdick-will). Violence occurs mostly in many underperforming schools because they are not well educated. Violence may also occur because of stress caused by house problems and lack of education. If the poor weren’t low rated and had a good education there wouldn’t be as much violence in schools or communities.

Another reason why the achievement gap needs to be addressed in Atlanta community is because of its importance in the local community. “Students who were eligible for free/reduced price school lunch, an indicator of low family income, had average score that was 45 points lower than students who were not eligible. This performance gap was wider than in 2002.  (25 points)” (fountain). The poor are not having the privilege to be well educated. If they would treat the poor like the rich then there wouldn’t be poor because they would be well educated/ successful. Don’t treat us different, we are all people.

Economic reasons and crime are causes on why the achievement gap needs to be addressed in Atlanta communities.” If we do not find ways to reduce the growing inequality in education out comes- between the rich and poor- schools will no longer be the great equalizer we want them to be” (Reardon). Some of us think that school is a way to make people come together, but it won’t be if we treat the poor wrong. To close the achievement gap we need to focus on what really matters like high standards, a challenging curriculum, and good teachers, not for the reason that they are poor. So if you do not want your child to be low rated because he/she is poor then I suggest you to speak up.

ALEX HAS THE URGE TO GO INTO THE PLACE OF THE GODS. HE WALKS BACK INTO THE WOODS AND FINDS THE PLACE OF THE GODS. WHEN HE LOOKS INTO THE PLACE OF THE GODS HE SEES A CITY LIGHTED WITH BUILDING LIGHTS. HE GETS EXCITED BUT THEN HE REMEMBERS THAT IT IS FORBIDDEN GO INTO THE PLACE OF THE GODS. HE HEARS A VOICE CALLING HIM INTO THE PLACE OF THE GODS. HE REALLY WANTED TO ENTER AND THEN HE REMEMBERED WHAT IS DAD TOLD HIM.

HE ENTERED AND FELT SOMETHING INSIDE OF HIM HE KNEW IT WAS FEAR, BUT HE HAD TO FOLLOW HIS DREAMS. THE GODS WELCOMED HIM AND TOLD HIM HE WILL BE SAFE.
